Learn how to properly use some tricky four-letter words in legal writing. No, not those four-letter words—words like that, they, whom, and none. This session will review grammar and usage rules for these commonly misused words and provide practical exercises to improve writing clarity and precision. Plus, for fun, we’ll briefly discuss the role of curse words in formal writing.
Presenter Emily Grant, Washburn University
Emily Grant currently serves as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Washburn University School of Law. Prior to her time in the associate dean’s office, she taught legal writing at Washburn Law, KU Law, and the University of Illinois College of Law. Before that, she clerked for various judges, so she’s basically made her professional career all about effective writing.
