Emily Donaldson

Emily has been practicing in the areas of elder law and estate planning for twenty years, is a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation and holds an advanced degree in Estate Planning (LL.M.).  Her practice areas under the umbrella of elder law are:  long-term care and disability planning; Medicaid and VA benefits planning; Estate Planning (Wills and Trusts); Estate and Trust Administration; and Guardianship and Conservatorship.   She is an adjunct professor at Washburn University School of Law, teaching the Elder Law course, and at the University of Kansas School of Law, Estate Planning Principles and Practice.  She is a member of the Probate Law Advisory Committee of the Kansas Judicial Council; and a frequent author and speaker on issues affecting the aged and individuals with disabilities. Most importantly, she is the caretaker of Beverly and Wendell, the middle-aged domestic dog couple who found her on their travels through the mean streets of Kansas City, Missouri.  Every day, they teach her the true purpose of life; every once in a while, she listens.
