DELIVERING JUSTICE DURING THE PANDEMIC
This CLE will provide an overview of the disruption of business in the trial court caused by the pandemic and examine the court’s response in uncertain and constantly changing circumstances. The health and safety orders and guidance issued by federal, state and local authorities will be discussed. The administrative orders entered by the Kansas Supreme Court will be highlighted. The program will review actions involved in shutting down operations while still attempting to provide access to justice, then will turn to challenges involved in returning to what may be the new normal. The program will conclude with a glance into the crystal ball with focus on the question: How may the business of lawyering and judging look in the future?
